Though he wasn’t the fire-breathing King of the Koopas of legend, our Bowser possessed a heart of the purest gold, and we were so fortunate to have known his gentle spirit.

While Bowser’s time with us was spent on a special mission to overcome some health challenges – he was bravely navigating being underweight, creaky joints, a big heart, and those pesky heartworms – his inner light always shone brightly. Even without fiery breath, Bowser had a warmth that touched everyone he met.

He may not have found his forever “Princess” or “Prince” in the way we had hoped, but he was surrounded by love and care in his final moments. We imagined him finally reaching his ultimate “Happy Ever After” level, where he could rest peacefully after a long and undoubtedly adventurous life (we still suspect a few past encounters with a certain plumber!).

Though the comfy beds and gentle snores are now silent, the memory of Bowser’s sweet nature and the resilience of his spirit will forever remain with us. He taught us so much about gentle strength and the unwavering desire for a loving touch.

Thank you to everyone who rooted for Bowser and sent him their love. Though his journey with us has reached its end, we are grateful for the time we had with this very special senior gentleman with the heart of gold. Rest easy, dear Bowser. Your gentle spirit will be deeply missed.
