Claussen (Pickle Pups) was ADOPTED!

A puppy named Claussen
Hey there, I’m Claussen! You know, life’s a pickle sometimes, isn’t it? Take me for instance, I ended up in this shelter because I thought I could outsmart a squirrel. Yep, you heard right! I chased him up a tree, but forgot one minor detail – I can’t climb trees! After a few hours of barking up the wrong tree (literally), a kind human brought me here. I’ve been learning new things every day, like how trees are not for climbing and squirrels are faster than they look. But don’t worry, my goofiness just adds to my charm. I’m a sweet, smart, playful, cuddly, friendly, curious, and a tad goofy pup looking for a forever home. I promise to keep you entertained with my antics and shower you with unconditional love. So, what do you say? Ready to add a little pickle to your life? I’m believed to be a Wire-Haired Terrier/Border Collie Mutt. I’m a boy and I was born on September 10th. It is estimated that I’ll grow to around 20-25 pounds.

When you adopt me, I’ll come fully vetted, neutered, and be up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention. I will need my final vaccinations at 16-weeks old. I’ll also be microchipped for easy identification if I ever get lost.

My adoption fee also includes TWO FREE training sessions with Jack’s Legacy and 50% off any additional training.

Claussen, and all of the Pickle Pups were found dumped in the woods in Christian County, Kentucky. Their poor momma dog was later found deceased having been hit by a car. When CCAS representatives reached out to the Mutt Motel and said they were in a pickle, we knew we couldn’t say “no.”

Information about Adopting a puppy:

Please keep in mind that puppies require a lot of training and patience.

  • Puppies will need to be potty-trained.
  • They will have accidents in the house.
  • They will not sleep through the night until they are older.
  • They will chew on things that they shouldn’t until they learn what they are allowed to chew on.

Please strongly consider if you are ready for a puppy. It is devastating to have puppies returned after they think they have a family. If you do not have the time and/or patience for training, please let us know before adopting and we will try to match you with an adult dog that is already trained.
