Howdy! The name is Melvin. I came from a home once and was then surrendered to the scary shelter. I was terrified. A nice lady picked me up and brought me home and said she would find me a loving home that I could stay in forever this time.

I’m around 8 years old and completely potty trained. I’m about 12 pounds and am currently on a weight loss journey.

I am a Chihuahua mix, and if you know my breed, you know I fear nothing! I love attention of all kinds, and even though I get a little grumpy when my foster mom gives the other dogs here attention, I immediately stop when she tells me too.

She explained that the other dogs need love too and I get that but- what about ME! After all, I am a typical somewhat “spicy” Chihuahua mix with lots of love to give and a little weight to lose!

I have done fine with the large and small dogs here, and I would do well in a home as an only dog or with other calm dogs. I am an old man after all…
