Meet Saber!

Are you looking for a new pal? Someone to go on hikes with? Maybe someone to help you stay committed to your running or exercise goals? Saber is estimated to be 2 years old and currently weighs 78 pounds.

While at the animal shelter, he struggled with kennel depression and lost a very significant amount of weight. He still needs to gain weight and will likely be around 90 lb at a healthy weight.

Saber is amazing. He is sweet, he is loving, and he is kennel trained. In fact, when he is done outside, he happily walks into his kennel and lays down to chew on his bone.

Saber is the guy that everyone is friends with. The guy that will buy you a round on him and invite you to his cookout party.

He loves attention but can also occupy himself outside. He loves to sniff the yard and would do best with a fenced yard so he can live his best life.

His favorite kind of dog is every dog. His favorite kind of human is all of them
He even is chummy with cats and bunnies!

Saber would probably do best in a home with older children. He tends to forget his size and may inadvertently knock down small children

Saber has beaten the odds, making it out of the shelter alive after having no interest and suffering from severe kennel stress and weight loss.

He deserves the BEST home to help show him the ropes and what being part of a loving family is all about.

Saber is:

Potty trained ✅
Has done well with dogs of all sizes (but does like to play) ✅

Knows “sit” ✅

Saber will need:

– an active family
– fenced yard
– continued training on manners and commands (as any young dog will need)
-leash training (would be benefit from a harness or gentle leader, can pull on a collar)

He is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives.
